Macman and Lucky Records are the result of combing the musical, creative, and nose-for-talent of two of Portland’s longtime music business stalwarts, Marlon McClain and David Leiken.
Marlon McClain has produced and co-produced such artists as NuShooz, Crazy 8s, Dan Reed Network, Shock, Pleasure, Curtis Salgado Band, Jeff Lorber, The Dazz Band, George Clinton, The U-Krew, and others. He has written songs, arranged, played, and produced for artists such as Kenny G, En Vogue, Toni Braxton, GeorgeC linton, George Benson, Ronnie Laws, Jeff Lober, Swing out Sister, Brandy, Maurice White, Tower of Power, Joan Baez, and many others. His imprint apprears on approximatly 50,000,000 records worldwide.
David Leiken has been owner and President of Double Tee Concerts since it’s inception in 1972, and has been at the helm of Lucky Records since it began. Lucky has been the label for such artists as The U-Krew, Shock, The Dazz Band, Vail Johnson, Curtis Salgado, The Franchise, Patrick Lamb, and others. In additon, Leiken has managed or Co-managed artists such as the legendary, trend-setting, jazz/funk band Pleasure, Taxxi, Curtis Salgado, Robert Cray, Tim Gorman, The Dazz Band, The U-Krew, and is currently helping guide the carreer of Lilla D’Mone, an up and coming eclectic soulful singer-songwriter.

Marlon “The Magician” McClain has his first SOLO record, TBD, in nearly 30 years. The leader of legendary funk-fusion band PLEASURE, and songwriter, producer, and guitarist has written songs, played on, or produced over 50 million records in his career. His new CD, TBD, is a tour-de-force of his jazz, funk, rock, and fusion songwriting and playing.
